Sometimes You Have To Let Things Go

Sometimes You Have To Let Things Go

When I was a teenager 30 years ago or so I was interested in shooting Skeet. I found a used Browning Citori Shotgun for sale at the local gun dealer and worked very hard to make the money to buy it. There was no way I could afford a new shotgun. Anyway with a little patience I purchased it and it has been in my possession all of this time. I decided recently that I was interested in shooting sports again. An optional shooting venue was at the local military base. So I went to register the shotgun so that I could carry it on the base for target shooting. Part of the process for registration was to provide a picture of the firearm with the serial number. To my surprise the firearm came back as stolen from 34 years ago. I was so shocked! Nevertheless I had to go directly home to meet a deputy sheriff and surrender this shotgun. I do hope that the original owner is reunited with their shotgun. Even though I am a Christian I still felt angry since in essence I have been cheated. Sometimes things don't go the way we want, but as Christians we should all want the greater good to prevail and in doing so, we have to sometimes just let things go. I think this time I will save up and buy a brand new one.

Blessings to you all!
