Continuing To Walk (Wednesday of Holy Week)

Title: Walking with Jesus: Lessons from Wednesday of Holy Week

Introduction:

Welcome, dear friends, to our reflection on the events of Holy Week. Today, we journey with Jesus on Wednesday, a day filled with profound lessons and challenges. As we delve into the Scriptures, let us open our hearts to receive insights that will guide us in our walk with Christ.

Point 1: Trusting in God's Strength (Isaiah 50:4-9)

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 50:4-9

Point:

In Isaiah's prophecy, we witness the Servant of the Lord enduring trials with unwavering trust in God. Despite facing opposition and suffering, the Servant relies on God's strength.

Challenge:

Our challenge is to trust in God's strength when facing difficulties in our own lives. Let us lean on Him for courage and perseverance, knowing that He is faithful to sustain us.

Point 2: Finding Comfort in God's Presence (Psalm 69:6-14, 21-22)

Scripture Reading: Psalm 69:6-14, 21-22

Point:

In Psalm 69, we hear the psalmist crying out to God in distress, seeking refuge and comfort in His presence. Even in the midst of adversity, the psalmist finds solace in knowing that God hears and responds to his cries.

Challenge:

Our challenge is to find comfort in God's presence during times of trouble. Let us turn to Him in prayer, knowing that He is always near and ready to comfort us with His love and grace.

Point 3: Embracing the Sacrifice of Christ (Hebrews 9:11-28)

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 9:11-28

Point:

Hebrews reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice of Christ, who entered the Most Holy Place once for all, offering Himself as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Through His death, Christ secured eternal redemption for all who believe in Him.

Challenge:

Our challenge is to embrace the sacrificial love of Christ and live in gratitude for His redemption. Let us surrender our lives to Him completely, allowing His sacrifice to transform us from the inside out.

Point 4: Remaining Faithful in the Midst of Betrayal (Matthew 26:1-5, 14-25)

Scripture Reading: Matthew 26:1-5, 14-25

Point:

In Matthew's Gospel, we witness the betrayal of Jesus by one of His own disciples, Judas Iscariot. Despite this betrayal, Jesus remains steadfast in His mission, demonstrating unwavering faithfulness to the Father.

Challenge:

Our challenge is to remain faithful to Christ even in the face of betrayal and temptation. Let us guard our hearts against the lure of worldly desires and stand firm in our commitment to follow Jesus wherever He may lead.

Conclusion:

As we reflect on the events of Wednesday in Holy Week, may we be inspired by the example of Jesus and the teachings of Scripture. Let us trust in God's strength, find comfort in His presence, embrace the sacrifice of Christ, and remain faithful in the midst of trials. May these lessons guide us in our journey of faith, as we walk with Jesus each step of the way. Amen.
